Our Programs

Harvest at Home

Growing vegetables, fruit or herbs in your home garden or at another location in town?

Donate a portion of your harvest by dropping it off at Alper’s Hardware, at 81 Main Street, where it will be stored for delivery to a local food pantry.

Produce Delivery

Pick up donated produce from our drop-off site at Alper’s Hardware, at 81 Main Street, and bring it to the food pantry at Our Lady of Fatima.

Volunteers are needed Monday through Friday to make deliveries before noon, Typical commitment: one time per month.

Painted Planters

Tend to 2-3 assigned planters located throughout Port Washington.

Typical commitment: Watering needed 3-4 days per week, depending on the weather. Instruction will be provided.

Mini Farms

Join us to plant, maintain and harvest at our mini farms at the Helen Keller National Center and the PW Adult Activities Center. 

Scheduled sessions take place Monday-Thursday, 5-6pm during the gardening season. No experience required.

In addition to our programs, there are other ways you can be part of the Plant A Row team.

Engage with visitors at our booth and inspire them to  volunteer and support Plant A Row at local events such as HarborFest, Karmacue, Fiesta in the Park and more.

Share your vegetable gardening knowledge with our team and work alongside other volunteers at our mini farms.

Help spread the word about Plant A Row through social media, email and press outreach.

Help strategize and execute campaigns for targeted projects and end-of-year donations.
